Hi, I’m
Abdus Salam.

I’m a developer based in Islamabad, interested in stories, philosophy, and how people use technology.
I like building things that give people something worth reading, a choice they can understand, or a reason to talk to one another.
What I care aboutDesigning, building,
and learning as I go.
I want our stories
to stay part of
everyday life.
Saving a story is a start. I want to help someone find it, understand it, and want to share it.
That’s why I care about interfaces. A story can be available online and still be difficult to read or discover. The language, the layout, and the way we move through a page all affect whether we spend time with it.
My aim is to make that first step easier, while keeping the story connected to the people and culture it comes from. A reader should be able to ask what a word means, choose a familiar script, and follow their own curiosity.
What that means
in the things I build.
Make room for stories people already have.
Village elders held a rich collection of folk stories while young people spent their time on short videos. I built Baithak to bring those stories into a familiar reading experience, with keywords that explain their cultural context. Over 150 stories have been published as of October 15, 2026.
Let the reader have a say.
What we get to read matters too. In Echo, readers choose the rules for their feeds and collect individual posts. It’s another part of the same interest: helping people make their own choices about what gets their attention.
I spend time
with words, too.
Literature and philosophy are part of how I think about technology.
I’ve studied moral rebellion in Camus and Dostoyevsky, helped digitize library archives, and worked on a digital magazine. I’ve also explored how interface design affects people’s trust in AI.
Those interests keep bringing me back to people: what they believe, what they remember, and what they feel comfortable sharing. They give me questions to bring into the next thing I build.
I enjoy the shared work too. Coding sessions, design workshops, and building with other people have all been part of learning to do this.
And I like
making it work.
I work across design, frontend, and backend. These are the tools and skills I use to turn an idea into something people can try.
Interfaces
I design and build the part people spend time with: the reading view, the controls, the small details that make a page feel comfortable.
JavaScript · React · HTML & CSS · Tailwind CSS
Figma · Photoshop · Human-computer interaction
The systems behind them
I build the APIs and data structures that let people publish, find, and return to what matters to them. I work across the frontend and backend, so the experience stays connected.
Node.js · Express · Python · Flask
MongoDB · PostgreSQL · REST APIs · WebSockets
Getting it into people’s hands
I take projects from local development to a working site, with version control, deployment, and repeatable updates. Using what I build helps me see what needs another pass.
Git & GitHub · GitHub Actions · CI/CD
Microsoft Azure · Azure Functions · Render
Have a story or an idea
you’d like to share?
I’d be glad to hear it. Especially if it brings together people, culture, and something we could build.
Let’s talk
